Air 89 is a custom built trailer by Breathing Air Systems for KCFD 47 and was acquired in 2004 through a FEMA grant. It is equipped with a 4500 psi cascade air system for refilling up to 70 SCBA (Self Contained Breathing Apparatus) bottles. The primary duty of Air 89 is to provide the ability to fill SCBA bottles when on the scene of a large incident such as a structure fire.
